Japanese: Heaven's bridge

Amanohashidate (天橋立 Japanese: Heaven's bridge) is one of Japan's three scenic views. The sandbar is located in Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture. It forms part of the Tango-Amanohashidate-Ōeyama Quasi-National Park.

Ine / The Most Quaint and Elegant Fishing Village Town in Japan

Tourist Attraction in Miyama Town / Thatched Village

Miyama Town is located in the central part of Kyoto Prefecture, with 96% of its area covered by forests, and is approximately an hour's drive from Kyoto City. Renowned as a representative Japanese rural area featuring thatched-roof houses, Miyama gained attention in 1993 when the northern region known as " kayabuki no sato " was designated as a protected area. Since then, many visitors have flocked to the town, and by 2003, the annual number of tourists exceeded 700,000.
Over the years, Miyama Town has been committed to ecotourism, aiming to preserve its rich natural and cultural landscapes. The town still boasts numerous thatched-roof houses, receiving high praise for its architectural techniques and the conservation of historical scenery. In December 1993, it was selected as a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
Compared to the more famous Gassho-zukuri villages like Shirakawa-go, "Miyama Kayabuki no Sato" may have lower recognition, but it exudes a secluded and enchanting atmosphere. The tranquil and silent village, with its rows of thatched-roof houses, transports visitors to a bygone era reminiscent of Japan's Edo period.
