Japanese: Heaven's bridge
Amanohashidate (天橋立 Japanese: Heaven's bridge) is one of Japan's three scenic views. The sandbar is located in Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture. It forms part of the Tango-Amanohashidate-Ōeyama Quasi-National Park.

Part of the national park, Amanohashidate is a 3.6-kilometer-long sandbar formed in the sea due to tectonic compression. At its narrowest point, it is only 20 meters wide, with the Japan Sea to the east (Miyazu Bay) and the Aso Sea to the west. True to its name, it acts as a bridge connecting the two shores of Miyazu Bay. The sandbar is adorned with over 8,000 pine trees, forming a continuous stretch. It has been selected as one of "Japan's Top 100 White Sands and Green Pines." Interestingly, despite being surrounded by the sea on both sides, the water beneath the sandbar is freshwater. In the middle of the sandbar, there is an ancient well known as "Isoshimizu," and the water it produces is drinkable. It has been recognized as one of Japan's famous waters, listed among the "100 Famous Waters of Japan.

Ine / The Most Quaint and Elegant Fishing Village Town in Japan
Located in the northeastern part of the Tango Peninsula in northern Kyoto Prefecture, this administrative district is primarily focused on fishing and tourism. The Tsutsugawa and Honjo Hamada areas within its jurisdiction are said to be the settings of the Urashima Taro legend, while the Arai area is associated with the myth of the Chinese Qin Dynasty sage Xu Fu arriving in Japan.
The Ine Funaya, unique traditional structures in the region, have been a local feature since the mid-Edo period. These boat houses emerged as two-story buildings along the coastline, with the first floor serving as a space for mooring and boat-related activities, while the second floor functions as living quarters for fishermen. In 2005, this area was designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings in Japan. Join us on a boat tour to explore the beauty of Ine and enjoy an ecological interaction experience with seabird feeding.
Tourist Attraction in Miyama Town / Thatched Village
Miyama Town is located in the central part of Kyoto Prefecture, with 96% of its area covered by forests, and is approximately an hour's drive from Kyoto City. Renowned as a representative Japanese rural area featuring thatched-roof houses, Miyama gained attention in 1993 when the northern region known as " kayabuki no sato " was designated as a protected area. Since then, many visitors have flocked to the town, and by 2003, the annual number of tourists exceeded 700,000.
Over the years, Miyama Town has been committed to ecotourism, aiming to preserve its rich natural and cultural landscapes. The town still boasts numerous thatched-roof houses, receiving high praise for its architectural techniques and the conservation of historical scenery. In December 1993, it was selected as a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
Compared to the more famous Gassho-zukuri villages like Shirakawa-go, "Miyama Kayabuki no Sato" may have lower recognition, but it exudes a secluded and enchanting atmosphere. The tranquil and silent village, with its rows of thatched-roof houses, transports visitors to a bygone era reminiscent of Japan's Edo period.
